SONGUN POLITICS. IS ROOTED IN JUCHE IDEA; IT'S IMPORTANCE IN MANTAINING THE CAUSE OF WORLD. INDEPENDENCE AND TRANSFORMATION By Henry Masiko. Comrades Organizers from IIJI Ladies and Gentlemen The world today recognizes the great exploits and achievements registered by the people of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), who have defeated all the aggressive and provocative machinations of United States of America-led imperialism. It is very clear that, as we assemble here in Pyongyang for this auspicious world congress of IIJI, the Korean people have Proved that Juche idea and Songun politics are tested revolutionary theories that have guided not only the liberation of the Korean people but also guaranteed the revolutionary cause of Independence, sovereignty and socio-economic transformation of the country.
At various stages of the revolutionary process, Songun politics, as an idea of carrying on the revolution and construction with Army as the main force, has been necessitated by the objective conditions of the time. We remember that in the anti-Japanese struggle (1905-1945), the Great President, Kim II Sung inevitably applied Songun to defeat the Japanese imperialist occupation forces by means of armed struggle. In the 1990s, the Great General Kim Jong II administered Songun as the basic political mode in order to steer the DPRK through the arduous march, when the nation faced the most difficult economic setbacks, amidst the hostile manoeuvres of U.S.A who had vowed to usurp the sovereignty and independence of DPRK.
Songun politics which is rooted in the Juche idea has proved that once an independent people pay sufficient attention to their defense capability, they can decisively advance and out compete the cowardly acts of the aggressors. It is a fact that Song un politics has firmly placed the DPRK among the sovereign nations, fully respected as a country that cannot be bulldozed by the United States and her puppets. Indeed the arduous march has yielded tremendous achievements with the Korean People's Army fully leading and supporting the party and the masses of the people. DPRK is experiencing unprecedented economic transformation, leading to the increased prosperity and happy lives of the mosses. The world recognizes that with Songun politics, DPRK has maintained a steadfast stable continuity and unity within the party and state under the dynamic leadership of the Respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.
As the world ponders on the cause for Independence and peaceful development, it is a fact that Songun idea provides practical lessons that should be emulated by all those struggling for a peaceful world, devoid of domination and exploitation. Africa stands out, uniquely to appraise the relevance of Songun politics which is akin to the nationalist independence struggles of 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s that opened the gateway to political independence. With the collapse of apartheid in South Africa as a climax of Africa's liberation in 1994, the whole of Africa is free from colonialism and is entering the decisive phase of economic transformation and political integration. Africa recognizes that the path to total emancipation is not easy because the imperialists are relentlessly opposing the peaceful realization of Africa's aspiration to develop her infrastructure, natural resources and even human resources. Imperialists are increasingly interfering and disrupting the independent development efforts in many African countries.
The continued neo-colonial machinations in Africa, not only call for the Juche idea as guiding principle for those in search of a solution for Africa's problems, but indeed Songun idea must be internalized by many African revolutionaries with the view to adopting its principles to strengthen Africa's capacity to defend her sovereignty and peaceful development. The African Union has been strongly advocating for the policy of African solutions to African problems, by Africans themselves. The above approach has worked to some satisfactory levels in Somalia and it is being applied in the Republic of South Sudan. In West Africa and Central Africa, there are efforts to apply the same policy of Africa solutions for African problems.
The IIJI Congress provides a good opportunity to Africa as it discusses Kimilsungism and Kimjongilism and the cause of world independence. The above ideology that combines Juche idea and Songun politics must be proclaimed as the only guarantee for a world free of any form of neo-colonial designs as was the case in the mid-90s in Korea, and the continued hostile interference in the developmental processes in many African countries. Let all world revolutionaries proclaim the correctness of the Juche idea and Songun politics (Kimilsungism and Kimjongilism) as the eternal guiding philosophy that will rid the world of all forms of domination and exploitation.
